Hallo!

My name is Lucia and if you're looking to learn German, I may be just the right person. Not only am I fluent, but I've got the accent down as well. It's one of my proudest accomplishments.

I graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of arts in German language and literature and graphic design, although 1 year of my time there was spent studying abroad in Germany. I've lived there twice, visited numerous occasions and love everything about Germany!

I may not be your "normal" tutor. I learned by becoming an exchange student in high school and fully immersing myself in the language and culture. I like active learning, not just book work. And I truly believe that learning about the culture is very much associated with learning a language. So experiencing German culture is always a part of teaching German for me.

While in Germany, I was an English tutor, and I'm in the process of teaching a couple friends and sisters German as well. I love talking about, reading about, and sharing my German experiences as it has been such a part of my life. I'd be excited and so grateful for the opportunity to share those with any interested. When I don't have the answer, I look it up, I'm not going to be perfect, but I am going to try my very best to teach you whatever you'd like to know -- and if that means I learn something in the process, all the better!

Traveling is one of my favorite things in life. Languages are so beautiful in their own ways, and I think no matter what you do in life, learning a different language is the most rewarding thing! I hope I can help you learn the same.
