Hello! My name is Magie (with one “g”), and I am a certified French and Mandarin teacher in Michigan.
I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching with specialization in world language education and second language acquisition, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature from Oakland University.
I have taught French at the university and secondary levels, both online and in person. At Oakland University, I led upper-level French sessions and designed communicative activities to help students actively use the language. I also taught IB French at a top-ranked public high school in Michigan, where I helped students build confidence and communicate effectively.
I also have several years of tutoring experience, including online instruction, working with learners from beginner to advanced levels.
My teaching is based on second language acquisition and brain-based learning. I focus on helping students learn French naturally through interaction, rather than solely through translation and grammar drills. My lessons are engaging, interactive, and tailored to each learner’s needs.
I currently focus on French 1 & 2 (beginner to intermediate) for college, university, and adult learners.
