Do you want to improve your English conversation skills? I’ve been helping students advance their vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and listening skills for more than 12 years. I am patient and friendly and interested in learning about you so that I can personalize your lessons to help you meet your goals. My aim is to boost your success in speaking and understanding English so that you feel more confident using it.

Experience: I taught English to children and adults in Japan for two years. I have a Masters Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages). I have worked one-on-one with children and adults mostly in-person, but also online, regularly since 2015.

Do you want to learn (or improve) your Japanese? As a proficient, non-native speaker of Japanese, I understand the process of learning Japanese grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and reading & writing of Hiragana and Katakana as well as Kanji. I will make sure you learn the many expressions that help you be culturally appropriate in Japan whether you are traveling there for a short visit, or living in Japan for an extended period of time.

Experience: I have 20+ years of teaching Japanese to students ages 3-83. I am a K-12 certified teacher of Japanese language and culture. I’ve trained teens and adults in preparation for moving to Japan. And, I’ve been a part-time online Japanese instructor for Michigan Virtual since 2015.
