I am currently a sophomore at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, pursuing a double major in Psychology and Economics (B.A. expected 2029). I attended Chadwick International in Songdo, South Korea, through middle school and graduated from The Waterford School in Utah, so I have firsthand experience with both international and American college-preparatory curricula. During high school, I earned scores of 5 on AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, and AP Microeconomics, as well as 4s on AP Spanish Language and AP English Literature. Although I have not held a formal teaching position, I have tutored informally for several years. In high school, I regularly helped classmates work through difficult material, particularly in math, and I have tutored my younger cousins in middle and high school one-on-one in mathematics, covering algebra and pre-calculus. My leadership roles also taught me to explain ideas clearly and work patiently with people of different ages and skill levels: as captain of my varsity golf team, I mentored younger teammates, and as youth president at my church, I organized programs for more than 50 participants. When I tutor, I break problems into manageable steps, ask students to explain their reasoning back to me so I can check their understanding, and connect new material to concepts they already know. My study of psychology shapes how I help students build confidence and effective study habits, and my economics coursework continues to strengthen my quantitative and analytical skills. Because I speak both English and Korean and have studied in international and American schools, I am especially well suited to support students who are adjusting to English-medium instruction.
