Hello!! I'm a current undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, studying cello performance. I am a recipient of the prestigious Earl V. Moore Merit Scholarship and currently study under Professor Yeonjin Kim. I've had the opportunity to serve as principal cello of many SMTD ensembles, and most recently have become a substitute cellist with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. I've had experience privately teaching middle schoolers and high schoolers for around a year now to help them achieve their musical goals. Past students have successfully auditioned for their all-region and all-state orchestras as well as been awarded high seatings in competitive youth orchestras. I thoroughly enjoy teaching at a slow yet deliberate pace to ensure lasting musical success. I will always push musicality first and emphasize technique only as a means to support it, not as a defining factor of one's playing. Music is a marathon, not a sprint, and I'm willing to invest as much time as it takes for students to develop a healthy, passionate approach to practicing and performing.
