Hi, I'm Nolan! I am an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, majoring in both Applied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering. Throughout my time in these majors, I have learned a lot about not just the subjects and concepts, but also the most efficient methods of learning and the best ways to truly understand, not just memorize.
At U of M, I gained a lot of experience in the completion of the calculus series, specializing in calculus I, II and III, as well as both AP Calculus AB and BC. Alongside this, I have experience in high school and college level physics, both AP Physics as well as college-paced courses. For students in upper level mathematics courses, I also have experience in proof writing, logic and set theory.
I have tutoring experience from the high school freshman level all the way up to a junior in college level, covering almost every level in between. I normally teach in a one-on-one setting, however, in college I have taught groups of my classmates in the mathematics department.
Even more important than my experience, I have a personal philosophy in tutoring: I don't teach just for a test score or a grade; I teach ways to learn and understand conceptually on top of course material. In my experience tutoring both in high school and college, grades and test scores come along with this, as well as providing more of an ability to self-study and understand, applicable to any class.
