One-on-One Tutoring That Builds Confidence and Academic Success

Hi, I am John! I am currently attending University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, majoring in biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience(BCN). I am a student on a pre-health track and am happy to mentor students who are interested in preparing for health-related graduate programs. Through my own academic experience, I have learned that many challenging subjects become far more approachable with personalized guidance and targeted support. While my college coursework was significantly more rigorous than my AP classes in high school, the individualized instruction I received from outstanding professors helped me understand complex material more effectively. This experience showed me how powerful one-on-one learning can be and inspired my approach to tutoring.

I have several months of volunteer experience teaching elementary school students how to speak and write in Korean, where I developed patience, adaptability, and clear communication skills. In addition, I have worked closely with patients and elderly residents, supporting individuals with diverse needs and learning styles. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust my teaching methods to each student.

Although I am early in my formal tutoring career, I am highly motivated, approachable, and committed to helping students succeed. I take pride in breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps and creating personalized study plans. My goal is not only to help students improve their understanding and confidence, but also to support ambitious goals—such as achieving a top score on the SAT Math section.
