Hi! I’m Tommy, a passionate, energetic tutor with a degree in Biology from the University of Michigan, and am a proud graduate of NASA’s Space Life Sciences Training Program. My academic and research experience spans neuroscience, genetics, emergency medicine, dentistry, and space biology — yes, space! I love bringing complex science down to Earth and making it understandable and engaging for students of all levels.

I’ve taught and mentored in a variety of settings: one-on-one tutoring, University of Michigan biology laboratory courses, ER technician training, and research mentorships. I have worked in space biology and neuroscience research labs, and have also helped found a student organization dedicated to space medicine. I bring a structured yet adaptive approach to teaching — always aligning lessons to your unique goals while keeping the material interactive and thought-provoking.

Whether you're a student looking to boost grades, explore a new subject, or prepare for a challenging exam, I’m here to support and empower you. Let’s make learning something you look forward to! TO THE STARS WE GO!

Approved Subjects

DAT (Dental)

DAT (Dental)

I scored in the 95th percentile overall on the DAT (AA score) and the 99th percentile on the science sections (TS score), studied for more than a year on focused, structured preparation. My biology degree and hands-on research background, including a science internship with NASA, give me genuine command of the biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry the exam tests, so I teach the underlying concepts rather than just drilling facts to memorize. Because I recently went through the full DAT prep process myself, I know exactly which topics carry the most weight, where students tend to lose points, and how to budget time across the perceptual ability and reading comprehension sections that trip people up!
Genetics

Genetics

Supported NASA spaceflight missions in neurobiology research and worked in a University of Michigan neurogenetics research laboratory for three years. I also have a Biology degree with a concentration in genetics and am pursuing a Master's in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) both at the University of Michigan.
