My name is Ajay, and I am currently pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science and Business Administration at the University of Michigan, where I maintain a 3.9 GPA. Throughout my academic journey, I've discovered that truly impactful teaching extends far beyond simply delivering content; it involves making learning relatable, enjoyable, and tailored specifically to each student’s individual strengths and interests. Inspired by professors who brought lessons to life, I've committed myself to a teaching style that emphasizes creativity, patience, and clarity. I design lessons that introduce topics in engaging ways, clearly explain key concepts, and always leave ample time for students to practice and master skills on their own.

I have extensive experience tutoring students privately, ranging from elementary through high school, across a wide spectrum of subjects. I've guided students through mathematics, coding languages such as Python, Java, and C++, and advanced computer science topics. Beyond STEM, I've also successfully prepared numerous students for magnet high school admissions tests, the SAT, and AP exams, specializing particularly in English grammar, essay writing, reading comprehension, and critical analysis. My goal is always to ensure that each student feels confident and fully equipped for academic challenges, whether mastering foundational grammar rules, crafting compelling essays, or tackling advanced standardized tests.

My diverse tutoring experiences, coupled with my strong academic foundation and passion for teaching, allow me to quickly adapt lessons to match the unique learning style of each student. I am approachable, responsive, and dedicated to creating an encouraging learning environment. I welcome collaboration and input from students and parents alike, ensuring that every session is personalized, effective, and enjoyable. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to arrange a lesson;I look forward to working together to help you achieve your academic goals!

AMC (Competition math)

AMC (Competition math)

I’ve competed in multiple math competitions, including the AMC series, and have a strong grasp of the problem-solving strategies and logic required to succeed on the AMC 8, 10, and 12. My background in competition math allows me to break down complex problems into simpler steps while helping students build speed, accuracy, and confidence. I’ve worked with middle and high school students to prepare for AMC tests by focusing on number theory, combinatorics, geometry, and clever algebraic reasoning. Whether a student is aiming to qualify for AIME or simply improve their score, I can provide tailored guidance and practice strategies that lead to meaningful improvement.
Computer Science

Computer Science

As a Computer Science major at the University of Michigan with a 3.9 GPA, I’ve taken advanced coursework in Data Structures, Algorithms, Python, Java, C++, SQL, and full-stack development frameworks like React, Node.js, and MongoDB. I’ve applied this knowledge in internships and hackathons, where I’ve built educational platforms, optimized real-time systems, and trained machine learning models. Beyond academics, I currently tutor 10 students ranging from middle school to high school in foundational and AP Computer Science topics, helping them understand core programming concepts and build real-world coding skills. I focus on making complex ideas approachable, ensuring students not only complete assignments but truly understand the logic behind their code.
Handwriting

Handwriting

I have experience tutoring students in handwriting across various age groups, with a focus on proper letter formation, paper placement, pencil grasp, and posture. My instruction includes modeling, guided practice, and targeted feedback to help students write more clearly and confidently. I understand the importance of adapting strategies to support both left- and right-handed writers and am knowledgeable about how fine motor development influences handwriting. I emphasize age-appropriate techniques and make sessions both skill-building and engaging.
Regents

Regents

I’ve helped students prepare for a wide range of New York State Regents exams, including Algebra I & II, U.S. History, Global History, and English Language Arts. My tutoring focuses on building a strong foundation in both subject knowledge and test-taking strategy. I work with students to break down commonly tested concepts, review past exams, and build confidence through targeted practice. Whether a student is aiming to pass or excel, I provide personalized support to ensure success on exam day.
United States History

United States History

I studied History at the Higher Level (HL) as part of the International Baccalaureate program, where I focused deeply on United States history, including topics like the Civil War, the Great Depression, and U.S. foreign policy. The IB curriculum emphasized both document-based analysis and thematic essay writing, helping me build a strong foundation in historical argumentation and research. I’ve also worked with high school students to strengthen their understanding of key events and prepare for AP and IB-style exams. My approach focuses on making complex historical movements easier to understand while teaching how to write strong, evidence-based essays.
