I love teaching Italian! I fell in love with Italy when I studied abroad in Rome. Six months later I fell in love with teaching Italian when Stanford University hired me to teach at the school where I had been a student. After teaching in Rome for 4 years and working as an administrative assistant for an Italian engineering company, I moved back to the U.S. I taught Italian at Purdue University for 6 years, and then at the University of Michigan for 3 more. Following that I turned to private lessons for adults for close to 10 years.
Teaching university students was fun and fulfilling, but my real joy is in individual tutoring and one-on-one fully customized lessons. I am excited about the language-Italian grammar fascinates me. I also add to most lessons a bit about Italian art, some geography, and there are ALWAYS conversations about food! I also enjoy creating travel itineraries-including highlights in any city-for those preparing for a trip to Italy. Italian is a beautiful, fun, sing-song language, so watching students become conversational warms my heart.
