Hello!
My name is Olga and I am an experienced mathematics tutor that has tutored most levels of math including pre-algebra, algebra, discrete math, graph theory, calculus, differential equations, and statistics. I began tutoring in 2018 when I was hired as the mathematics tutor for my university's college of engineering. I usually worked with students in small groups or individually while I held this position and gained significant experience working with students of different abilities. As an undergraduate student, I also served as teaching assistant for courses covering statistics and financial mathematics and individually worked with students to achieve success in these courses. Since graduating college, I have been working independently with high school students, college students, and adult learners through tutoring sessions on online platforms. I love working with students and helping them achieve mastery in courses. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students succeed and begin to understand concepts that seemed challenging at first. I love breaking down problems step-by-step and simplifying seemingly complex math concepts.
I hold a double bachelors degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Stony Brook University where I graduated summa cum laude and with departmental honors in economics. I am currently working on my PhD in Economics at the University of Michigan. I received a 1570 on the SAT (800 in math and 770 in reading/writing) and a 34 on the ACT. I also received a 169Q, 163V, and 5.5W on the GRE.
