Anatomy

I'm a fourth-year medical student, so I've studied anatomy at the level clinical practice requires and recently took the same kinds of courses you're working through. That helps me point you toward the structures and relationships that matter most and away from the details that aren't worth your time. I also spent two years as the lead TA for a musculoskeletal anatomy course in undergrad, so I've taught this material directly and seen where students tend to get stuck. Whether you're in an undergrad anatomy course, a nursing or allied health program, or studying for a practical, I'm happy to work from wherever you're starting.

I'm a fourth-year medical student with an ACE personal trainer certification, so I bring both the practical coaching side and the physiology behind it. Before tutoring, I founded my own personal training business, McKheen Fitness, in 2023. In its first four months I sold over $100,000 in training and worked with more than 100 clients. That experience taught me how to meet people at very different starting points and build programs that actually fit their lives, not just their goals on paper. CARS is the section most students struggle to move — and the one where the right approach makes the biggest difference. I scored a 519 on the MCAT, including a 131 on CARS (99th percentile), so I'm teaching from the strategies that actually delivered a top score, not from theory. I've spent over 600 hours tutoring and worked with 100+ students, which means I've seen just about every way CARS trips people up: running out of time, getting lost in dense passages, second-guessing between two "right" answers, or reading actively but still missing the author's argument. I'll help you diagnose which of these is costing you points and build a repeatable process for working through passages and questions under real timing pressure.

For over two years I've edited and revised personal statements for applicants to medical, dental, nursing, and other professional programs, and I've learned how the expectations shift from field to field. My approach is individualized to every student. I focus on getting your "why" across clearly and keeping the reader engaged the whole way through. I won't rewrite your essay in my voice. Instead, I'll help you find the throughline in your own experiences, cut what isn't pulling its weight, and make sure the reader remembers you. Whether you're starting from a blank page or polishing a near-final draft, I'll meet you where you are.

Current fourth-year medical student who has taken and passed the USMLE Step 1 examination. Received top scores on practice NBME tests and is familiar with all test prep materials, including but not limited to UWorld, Bootcamp, Sketchy, Pathoma, Boards and Beyond, Osmosis, Amboss, and Pixorize. Amazing MCAT Tutor

I has been a great experience to work with Alec on the MCAT. He is punctual, knowledgeable and patient. I have had multiple sessions with him so far, and plan to meet with him regularly until my test day. He explains the MCAT topics very well. But if I don't understand a topic, he will try again, and will patiently explain the topic with a different approach. I highly recommend working with Alec on all sections of the MCAT. He is a great mentor who can help you study more productively on the MCAT.

Clear, Consise, and Informative Tutor

Alec was really helpful and gave me very detailed and concise tips for the CARS section. He was also really helpful in addressing issues that I was having with the Bio/Biochem Section and breaking them down in a way that would be easily understandable. Highly recommend Alec!

Helpful but lacking communication.

The first lesson with Alec was great and extremely helpful. But after our lesson, I contacted him three separate times and I never heard a response back. Again the session was great, but the lack of communication was extremely frustrating so may not be the best option for a full time tutor.
