Hi! I have always loved electrical engineering, mathematics, and computer science! I'm especially interested in discovering new ways to explore what can often be challenging material. From the first time I realized my value in small study groups helping my classmates to my time designing postsecondary course material, I've always enjoyed spending my time helping students grasp the material.

Engineering has enriched my life in many ways. I think it's a great way to understand the world around us. I'm especially fascinated by the way "continuous time" math can model physical systems: differential equations, Fourier analysis, Laplace and Systems, and Complex analysis. But I'm also fascinated by and love discrete math.

I have experience teaching electrical engineering at the postsecondary level. I've developed a lot of course material and tutoring material related to microprocessors.

If my students are any indication of why I'm a great tutor, it would be my enthusiasm. My students consistently comment that I have a great attitude and overwhelming enthusiasm. Students are often surprised that the subject can be interesting even though they might have thought it would be awful, for example: " This quickly became my favorite course of the semester to me since I have never been good at coding and thought this would be an awful class. This class inspired me and I'm sure I'll keep messing around with coding in the future".

Please feel free to contact me to start a lesson! I'm always happy to listen to where you're coming from and then build upon your experiences.

Computer

C,

C

I have experience using C for general purpose programming and embedded systems programming. I have experience with C structures, pointers, dynamic memory allocation, and general language features. I also have experience with low level programming using bitwise operators. I have experience with build environments under Linux using shell scripts and Make files.
C++,

C++

I have experience using the C++ programming language and its object-oriented support: defining and using Classes, Methods, and Operator Overloading. I also have experience using the Standard Template Library: Vectors, Stacks, Queues, Lists, Variants, and Maps. I mostly use command-line under Linux but also have some experience with IDEs like Eclipse and MS-Visual Studio in MS-Windows.
Computer Engineering,

Computer Engineering

I have experience with computer architectures, especially MIPS. I enjoy digital circuit design for FPGA devices using Verilog. I also have a experience using a variety of commercial architectures such 68000, MSP430, and ARM as well as educational architectures like MIPS, LC3, and MARIE.
Computer Science

Computer Science

My programming skills are three-fold: I have general-purpose object-oriented programming skills, embedded systems programming experience, and, finally, hardware design. For general purpose programming, most of my experience involves C++ within a Linux environment. However, I also have some Windows/Mac experience, including Windows GUI which is in its own category. My embedded experience involves both assembly and C programming for embedded devices such as ARM-based microcontrollers and smaller 8- and 16-bit microcontrollers such as the Arduino. My hardware design experience includes manual logic design and automated design using Verilog. I once had the pleasure of helping to design the Intel Itanium microprocessor. I'm also very familiar with day-to-day workhorse tools involved with software development: powerful editors(vi/vim), regular expressions, make-files, unix shells (bash), pattern matching, file manipulations, perl one-liners, awk/sed/vi, and general dev under POSIX . Although most of my experience is with C/C++, I'm also familiar with C-like interpreted languages like PHP, JavaScript, and Perl).

Electrical Engineering

Much of my background includes digital design and microprocessor design. In addition to my experience using traditional pencil-and-paper design techniques, I have experience using Verilog/SystemVerilog along with their corresponding dev tools such as Linux/Icarus, Quartus, ModelSim, and Vivado. I also have extensive experience programming embedded and microcontroller systems using assembly/C/C++ using many common commercial platforms such Arduino, Texas Instruments, and ST-Microelectronics as well as educational platforms such as MIPS and LC3. I have experience with many common dev platforms such as Keil, MS-Code, Code Composer as well as command-line programming on Linux (gcc, vim, make, etc). I'm familiar with circuit simulators like Spice, CircuitLab, EDAPlayGround, TinkerCAD. I have experience with circuit analysis including DC analysis, AC analysis, Phasors, frequency response, and Laplace analysis. I also have experience with electronics using diodes, transistors, op amps, and MOSFETS using SPICE.

MSP 430 board with C and Assembly program

Taking one of the hardest CPE Lab in college and this is my last semester. Thank you for my tutor Mr Scott H he really got my confidence up and get me going. So far already did two labs under him and got excellent grade. He is great on teaching and very reasonable rate.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor is an under statement.

Scott is amazing at teaching C and even when teaching a beginner like me who was confused on Fscan and pointers. He not only was patient but gave a better understanding then even my professor has. Overall an amazing tutor!
