I am currently a first-year medical student at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. I earned a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience from Barnard College. Through my academic training and research experiences, I have developed a strong and advanced understanding of core science subjects such as biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. My education has required me to manage challenging material, stay organized, and study efficiently under pressure. Through this process, I have learned how to break down complex topics, focus on key concepts, and build understanding step by step. These skills translate directly to tutoring, where I aim not only to help students master their coursework, but also to develop effective study strategies and approach exams with greater confidence..

In addition to my academic background, I’ve spent a lot of time working directly with kids in both one-on-one and classroom settings. Through individual tutoring, I enjoyed getting to know each student and helping them work through material at their own pace, build confidence, and develop study habits that actually work for them. I also spent a year as a K–12 substitute teacher, where I supported students across all subject areas and grade levels. That experience taught me to explain concepts in different ways, and support students with a wide range of abilities and learning styles.

Through both individual tutoring and classroom teaching, I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students on daily assignments, exam preparation, and academic organization. I find tutoring especially rewarding because I enjoy helping students break complex problems into manageable pieces so they can truly understand the material and build a strong foundation. These experiences, combined with my medical training, allow me to provide structured, supportive tutoring that builds confidence and academic success.

MCAT

MCAT

With a BA in Neuroscience from Barnard College and an MS in Human Nutrition from Columbia, I have spent years building the science foundation the MCAT draws from. This includes extensive pre-med coursework and research across biology, chemistry, and biochemistry. That background means I'm not just familiar with the content; I understand it at a level that makes it easier to explain clearly and connect across subjects the way the MCAT requires. As a second year medical student I've continued tutoring and teaching science, working with students with different learning styles and at all levels. What I've found is that most MCAT struggles aren't really about memorization. They're about learning to apply concepts to unfamiliar passages under pressure. This is something I passionately teach, because it's exactly the skill set I had to develop myself. The MCAT is an exam I've thought carefully about, including how it's structured, what it's actually testing beneath the surface, and where students tend to lose points. The critical reasoning and experimental design questions in particular reward a specific way of thinking that I enjoy helping students build. I scored a 510 on the MCAT, and my science background is deep enough that I can meet students wherever they are in the content. Having gone through the process myself, I also understand the pressure and uncertainty that comes with MCAT prep, and I think that perspective makes me a more effective tutor. My goal is always to help students not just learn the material, but feel genuinely prepared and confident walking into test day.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I hold a Master of Science in Nutrition from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a cellular and molecular concentration from Barnard College, giving me a strong interdisciplinary foundation in human health, metabolism, and neurobiology. My research experience spans clinical and basic science settings, including patient enrollment, REDCap data collection, Epic chart review, and biological sample processing in the Columbia University–NYP Emergency Department. At Columbia Medical Center, I conducted thesis research on astrocyte reactivity in neurodegenerative disease and glioma, using immunofluorescence microscopy, machine-learning–based image quantification, and statistical analysis to study human brain tissue. Additionally, my undergraduate research on circadian rhythm genetics in Drosophila culminated in a peer-reviewed publication in PLoS Genetics, reflecting expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and translational neuroscience research.
