About Jamie

I greatly enjoy using my passion for anthropology and anatomy to motivate learners of all ages. I have been a teaching assistant and/or guest lecturer on numerous occasions in college-level courses related to archaeology, anatomy, and forensic anthropology. I also frequently give public lectures on science in pop culture.

I specialize in tutoring anthropology, anatomy, and introductory statistics. I am extremely passionate about these subject areas, and my goal while tutoring is not only to help students understand the material, but to help create an enthusiasm and a curiosity for learning that extends beyond the subject at hand. Seeing a student progress and develop a passion for learning is my favorite aspect of tutoring.

I understand that learning cannot be forced, and that being in a comfortable setting is paramount. I believe that offering remote tutoring sessions with flexible scheduling can help students learn on their schedule and at their own pace.

I received my BA in Anthropology in 2012, and my course of study was heavily focused on the biological aspects of humankind, particularly how our anatomy allows us to interact with our environment. I had extensive course work in biology, anatomy, archaeology, and statistics. Additionally, I received my Master's in Public Health in 2015

I have over 10 years of working with children with Special Needs, ranging from Cerebral Palsy to Autism Spectrum Disorders.

I look forward to helping all types of students achieve their personal and academic goals! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
