After graduating from with a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont, I went on to earn my License in Teaching ELA (7-12) in Colorado where I taught for three years, and later to southern Spain where I taught for another three years while earning my CELTA from the University of Cambridge. In the classroom, I have designed and taught curriculum in AP Language, IB DP Literature, IB MYP English Language Arts, and curriculum in accordance with both the American Common Core and Cambridge British standards.
I recognize that students sometimes need 1:1 support, whether it be to improve their essay structures or develop confidence in their voice. As a tutor, I have supported 4th graders write children's books, taught homeschooled students in middle and high school, tutored students earning their masters, and developed the writing skills of business owners. Utilizing best practice teaching methods, Students walk away with improved writing, reading and speaking skills, as well as confidence in their voice.
