Hi, my name is Tricia! I recently graduated with an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus in English. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's in English, specializing in Writing. My writing has been featured in several classes and I received highest honors throughout college. I am bilingual in English and Spanish--I began learning Spanish at a relatively young age, but I still remember the process of language learning, struggles and all.

My approach to tutoring includes determining the student's learning style. Every student should feel that their questions and concerns are being heard. Education is the key to many of life's doors, and I believe that everybody can find a suitable learning method. I have been teaching English to middle schoolers for about a year now, but I am capable of working with all age groups. My lesson plans are very open; there are several templates students can choose from, or we can mix-and-match, rather than relying on outdated methods. I can help with vocabulary retention, grammar, and writing essays.
While English is my first language, I am aware that fact alone does not qualify me to teach. Teaching is an art that I have been studying for years. As I am also a learner of languages, I understand the process well. In regard to writing, I have been reading and writing extensively since childhood. With my education I honed in on those skills. I learned Spanish to a professional proficiency and am nearly fluent in Korean. Through studying languages I have learned tips and tricks for pronunciation (such as the International Phonetic Alphabet!), grammar, and vocabulary.
