Skilled Student Coach with Masters in Educational Leadership

Hi, I'm Dana and I graduated from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelors of Arts in English, and minors in Exercise Science, and Studio Art. I also have my Masters of Arts in Leadership from St. Lawrence University. I'm a running and cross country skiing coach and have experience tutoring all different kinds of people and meet them at the level they're at. I served a year in the AmeriCorps as a student teacher in an inner city middle school in Boston, MA. I worked primarily with 8th graders on humanities, helping them one on one or in groups in and out of the classroom. I had a small focus group with students from each class that I worked with everyday to make sure they received the help they needed to not fall behind. I also helped all middle school students before school on any type of homework help. I've tutored students from kindergarten through high school in math, reading, and writing, in and out of the classroom. Additionally, I've coached and mentored college student athletes, as well as elite athletes, at St. Lawrence University, Dartmouth College and the U.S Biathlon teams.

I realized the classes I enjoyed the most in college weren't always the topics I had the most interest in, but rather the professors who made it enjoyable. These professors were always engaging, made the lessons comprehensible, and were willing to help me when I needed it the most. I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach and do everything I can to help make learning an awesome experience! I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!
