I am a native English speaker with an MA in Spanish and a TEFLA certificate from the International House in Madrid, Spain. I lived in Spain for over 3 years and have taught both Spanish and ESL for about 15 years in total. My approach as a tutor is an eclectic one, although I believe that it is necessary to have a solid understanding of basic grammatical concepts. Art History

I have a Minor in Art History from the University of Massachusetts. This include a Modern Art course at Mount Holyoke College. As well, I took two graduate level Art History courses in Spanish while pursuing an MA in Spanish from Middlebury College. One was in the architecture around the time of the discover of America (c. 1500). The second was a course exclusively on Velazquez, Goya and Picasso.

I taught English at a private academy in Spain to native, Spanish speakers. As well, I have tutored English as a Second Language to non-English speaking adults and children over the past 10 years.

I have taught kindergarten through 12th grade Spanish (Spanish 1-5) and lived in Spain for three years. My knowledge of both the academic and cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world is, relatively speaking, profound. Lastly, I love working on pronunciation and colors in a fun way with young students as much as I enjoy treating a piece of literature or grammar with older students.
