College professor with 10 years of SAT prep tutoring experience

Justin R.

I'm Justin! I am an anthropology professor who wants to help you on your college or graduate school journey through improved standardized test scores. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in anthropology and archaeology at a selective liberal arts college (SLAC), which I attended on a merit based scholarship. My SAT English and Math scores were a combined 1500. I then went to graduate school to get my PhD in anthropology. I scored a 165 on my GRE which played a large role in my acceptance. As a graduate student, I began tutoring the SAT and GRE to help first generation college students like me. I have over a decade of experience in tutoring these subject.

As a tutor, I believe that each student has unique learning styles and needs. I will work with you to develop an individualized tutoring plan for the SAT, GRE, or GMAT. I begin with a free consultation session to assess what areas we need to focus on. From there we will work to build an in-depth knowledge of the exam, test taking strategies, and what each question type is actually looking for. I find that memorization does not help but once you understand how to approach each question standardized test taking becomes a breeze.

Standardized testing can seem daunting and high stakes to many students and I want to help you more than anything. Rather than feeling stressed on exam day, my goal is to make you feel confident as you walk into the room knowing that you will get the score you've earned. I am easy to reach and quick to respond. Feel free to message me anytime with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
