A little about myself-
I started working with kids at just 17 years old. I babysat for a family for a year, and that happened to be my driving factor for working with the youth. The family I nannied for had eventually moved away so it was time for something new! I later found myself working in a residential facility for behavioral youth between the ages of 6-18. Although this job was great, I just knew I was itching for something different. After dedicating 3 years to the residential facility, and gaining extensive knowledge on trauma informed care and working with children with learning deficiencies I decided to take an offer as a preschool teacher. I led my own classroom with 10 children under the age of three. It was then that I began to realize that I had found my niche. I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge, and tools i've brought with me through previous jobs to finally move to a school system. I now work with grades 3-5 as a 1:1 educational technician. I am currently in school for early education, with plans to further myself in this career.
Certifications- 40 TCI Training, 40 CARE Training, Ed Tech Certification, 500+ Early Childhood Education classroom hours.
Tutoring is TEAM work! Building a connection with the student comes first before anything. Making sure the student is comfortable with me, and building trust is the foundation of all of this. I strive to serve as a role-model for my students, and collaborating with parents is just as important to increase students academic performance. I want the student to leave feeling proud, and adequate in their academic abilities.
I believe with my experience of working in high stress environments, hundreds of classroom hours, 1:1 services to students with learning disabilities and my true passion for helping the youth feel like the best version of themselves serves as an advantage for tutoring.
Ask me anything! I am here for YOU.
