Public Speaking

I earned 1st place in the 7th & 8th grade Prizespeaking Contest, I did theatre throughout high school and college, I have directed children's plays and musical performances for 10 years, I have had much experience speaking to crowds, and I have taught Spanish for 25 years (which is linguistically based).

Spanish

I am a professional Spanish teacher with 20 years of experience in teaching Spanish to all ages 5 and up. I LOVE teaching and specialize in finding what works for each student so that in addition to teaching her or him Spanish, I can teach the student study skills when learning a language. I blend a combination of fun, hands-on, relevant activities with a solid foundation of grammar, vocabulary, and conversation. My students know that I have a good sense of humor and that I expect them to be committed to our learning goals. I also work with parents in finding out what their Spanish goals are for their children and letting them know how we are progressing.

Study Skills

My experience as a Spanish teacher for 25 years, 3 years of homeschooling my two children (who required learning a variety of study skills), and a current tutor and substitute teacher, teaching study skills is my favorite thing to teach and a priority in learning how to learn.
