Hi, I'm Rhiannon (pronounced Ree-Ann-In) and I look forward to supporting you in your academic journey! I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with Highest Honors in English, and then got my MA and PhD in English Literature from Stanford University. I’ve tutored students in elementary through graduate school for more than a decade, and most recently have taught writing and literature courses at College of the Atlantic in Maine. Previously I worked for a top-tier private test prep company where I helped dozens of students prepare for college admission exams, including several students who attained perfect ACT and SAT scores. My professional experience also includes grant writing and fundraising for multiple higher ed institutions.
My passion is learning what drives my students and providing customized tutoring at the highest level, so that every one of my students feels both challenged and supported to achieve their best. I want you to feel proud of the hard work you put in, and I’m always here to answer questions, offer guidance and fine-tune our plan. I've worked with students with a variety of learning styles and challenges, both in person and online, and I'm committed to creating a tutoring environment where each student feels heard, respected, and confident in their ability to dive into the work ahead. I value clear, timely communication and consistency with students and their families.
In addition to ACT and SAT general tests, I enjoy helping students gain mastery of SAT subject tests and AP Literature and Composition and Language and Composition exams. If you're looking for guidance on college admission essays or college-level writing, I am experienced in these areas as well.
Outside of teaching, I run my family's small homestead on Mount Desert Island in Maine, where we have miniature horses, cows, chickens, goats, and cats. I look forward to meeting you and helping you attain your goals!
