My name is Mike. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Lyndon State College in 1991. I have twenty-four years of experience as a professional math tutor and have successfully tutored over two hundred students in a variety of math courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus and Calculus. My experience includes employment at Lyndon State College, North Shore Community College and the University of Oklahoma. I have worked with high school and college students in groups and individually.

When tutoring, I always tailor my instruction to meet the needs of my students. I help students solve math problems by providing illustrative examples that are similar to the assigned problems. When demonstrating the solution to a problem I use techniques and strategies that are most easily understood by the student. My interest in mathematics is very strong and I enjoy helping other people learn these subjects. I look forward to working with you.

I have taught many students how to evaluate, solve and graph the following types of functions: polynomial, radical, absolute value, rational, trigonometric, inverse trig, exponential and logarithms. I have also helped many students gain a better understanding of the following topics: domain & range, composite functions, inverse functions, polar coordinates and complex numbers. I help students solve precalculus problems by providing illustrative examples that are similar to the assigned problems. I have helped many students gain a better understanding of the following topics: properties of the sine and cosine functions, graphs of trig functions, trig identities, trig equations, inverse trig functions, polar coordinates and the unit circle. I have also assisted students with problems involving the Law of Sines, Law of Cosines, right triangles and oblique triangles.
