Hi everyone! My name is Omar and I enjoy tutoring several subjects that I have had the privilege of learning and applying in both school and my career. Since I was young, my experiences in and out of formal schooling has shaped my outlook and passion for teaching and for learning alike.
While studying Computer Science at the University of Maryland during my undergraduate years, I tutored friends in both CS and Math classes. After graduating, I continued tutoring occasionally to high school and college students, while furthering my own studies in Applied Math and Applied Statistics at the Graduate level. It was during Graduate School that I further appreciated the Professors who made the efforts to communicate complex material in a way that can be understood to someone new to the subject.
In my spare time, I also tutor Elementary and Intermediate Arabic as a side passion and hobby, primarily to non-native/beginner/intermediate students. I have a native Arabic background and formally studied Modern Standard Arabic after Graduate school to strengthen spoken dialect as well as formal reading/writing.
I tutor primarily in the Online setting, and provide a 1-on-1 dedicated approach to each student's needs. It is my strong belief that every student has their own pace and goals which shape the specific learning style that works best for them.
