Hi, my name is Soad! I graduated with Honors from Virginia Tech in 2019 with a degree in Experimental Neuroscience. In college, I conducted undergraduate research studying language development and became a mentor for incoming students within the laboratory. I also tutored students in 1000 and 2000 level neuroscience courses, which required an in-depth understanding of Biology and applied scientific techniques. I also was an orientation leader for my school during the summer, where I discovered my passion for mentoring and helping others realize their academic potential.
I'm currently conducting research toward my doctoral dissertation (PhD) in pediatric genetics in epilepsy, and would love the opportunity to continue tutoring and mentoring students. I've mentored rotating students in scientific settings for 4+ years, and my knowledge ranges from the sciences to languages (fluent in 3 languages: Arabic, Spanish, English).
