Patient Elementary Math and Reading Tutor!

I am currently an undergraduate student at McDaniel College. I am double majoring in American Sign Language and Elementary Education. I love all things music and arts! I am in the musical at my school and am a part of acapella and choir.

I have over 100 hours of experience in the classroom as a teacher assistant. I have had experiences in many different classrooms. I have taught Pre-K at my high school, where I would make lessons and then teach them according to the curriculum. I also had two internship experiences during my senior year of high school. First, I helped teach kindergarten, I assisted the teacher with her lessons, and then I made a lesson plan and taught it to her class. For the second internship, I taught 3rd grade, with a small part of my time with 2nd grade. For this, I would pull kids aside and tutor them on English and math. I would have them come to me, and we would work on worksheets and spellings. I would also help teach them math problems such as subtracting, adding 3-digit numbers, and adding and subtracting fractions. I also have work at a daycare as a teacher’s assistant. I worked at Goddard for a year; however, I sadly had to resign due to scheduling issues and conflicts. At this point, I would help students stay safe and make sure they were making good choices while challenging their academic side.
I took American Sign Language 1 and 2 at my high school, and then was a teacher's assistant for ASL 1 students afterward. I have qualified for ASL 4 at McDaniel College, and I am very comfortable signing. I am happy to help students learn.
I am very excited to become a teacher one day, and I am grateful to have this opportunity to teach students remotely online.
