Hello, my name is Sierra. I am a recent undergrad from Ferrum College. I always had a passion for helping people. During my time at college, I worked in multiple positions including a peer-assisted learning tutor. I really loved working in this position because I was able to help fellow classmates who struggled in their classes. This position allowed me to work with many different students. It was a nice experience to have people come to me for help. The most interesting thing about tutoring is making time for others. I refused to see others struggle knowing I had the ability to work with them so they can become successful.

I feel confident in my ability to assist students in English. I have taken courses in African-American Literature. I have knowledge of useful sources to use when writing a research paper. I have experience with outlining and study guides. I know I can help students prepare for tests and helping them better understand the course material.

I studied and majored in criminal justice in college. I have knowledge of a variety of courses to include criminal investigations, crime & delinquency prevention, deviance & social control, criminal law, victimology, and many more. I also had a previous internship with the Department of Justice. I know my experiences and course work will help me in my position as a tutor.

I have taken theater courses before. I have experiences in stage directions, scripts, voice & diction (public speaking), and musicals. I was also a part of the play "No strings Attached", (Pinocchio). I have an expensive passion for William Shakespeare and his many playwrights. I have studied many to include (Antigone, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar) and more. I would love to help someone understand the sometimes complexity of the theater language.
