I am a current first-year medical student with a strong foundation in the biological and physical sciences and a clinical background as a nationally registered paramedic. I completed a rigorous undergraduate premedical curriculum that included courses such as general biology, general and organic chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology, and I now apply these concepts daily in medical school. My clinical experience in emergency medicine has shaped how I understand and explain science, allowing me to connect abstract concepts to real-world applications in a way that helps students truly understand the material rather than memorize it.
My tutoring approach focuses on building strong conceptual understanding and confidence. I work primarily one-on-one with students, tailoring each session to their learning style and current coursework. I emphasize breaking complex topics into manageable pieces, identifying gaps in understanding, and practicing how to approach exam questions thoughtfully. I am especially comfortable helping students with introductory biology, anatomy and physiology, and related life science courses, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
In addition to formal coursework, I have experience teaching and mentoring in clinical and small-group settings through my work in EMS, where education, clear communication, and adaptability are essential. I have worked with learners at varying levels of training, from EMT students to peers, and I bring that same patient, structured approach to tutoring. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them develop study strategies and critical thinking skills they can carry forward into future courses.
