Math and Statistics Tutor Specializing in Probability

I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience for various students, dating back to 2019. While an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, I tutored student-athletes in mathematics, probability, and statistics. I’ve taught students as young as rising seventh-graders at a virtual math camp in the summer of 2021. I have extensive experience tutoring students in Exam P starting in 2021. Most recently, I was a TA at the University of Iowa from 2022 to 2024, leading my discussion sections in elementary statistics.

In May, I obtained my master's degree from the University of Iowa in Actuarial Science. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2022. I have passed four actuarial exams, specifically Exams P, FM, FAM, and SRM; I plan to take PA and ALTAM in April 2025.

In my opinion, drilling various styles of problems is the best way to increase a student's familiarity with concepts that they may find difficult. I am a huge proponent of using examples to aid students’ comprehension of new ideas, and then slowly ramp up the difficulty of the examples. I am also fond of assigning homework, to make sure that the student can take away what they learned in our session and apply it on their own. I pull the homework questions from various sources and sometimes adapt them to further demonstrate a particular concept.
