Bio

I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience for various students, dating back to 2019. While an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, I tutored student-athletes in mathematics, probability, and statistics. I’ve taught students as young as rising seventh-graders at a virtual math camp in the summer of 2021. I have extensive experience tutoring students in Exam P starting in 2021. I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience for various students, dating back to 2019. While an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, I tutored student-athletes in mathematics, probability, and statistics. I’ve taught students as young as rising seventh-graders at a virtual math camp in the summer of 2021. I have extensive experience tutoring students in Exam P starting in 2021. Most recently, I was a TA at the University of Iowa from 2022 to 2024, leading my discussion sections in elementary statistics.

In May, I obtained my master's degree from the University of Iowa in Actuarial Science. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2022. I have passed five actuarial exams, specifically Exams P, FM, FAM, SRM, and ALTAM; I plan to take PA in April 2026 and get my ASA by the end of the year.

In my opinion, drilling various styles of problems is the best way to increase a student's familiarity with concepts that they may find difficult. I am a huge proponent of using examples to aid students’ comprehension of new ideas, and then slowly ramp up the difficulty of the examples. I am also fond of assigning homework, to make sure that the student can take away what they learned in our session and apply it on their own. I pull the homework questions from various sources and sometimes adapt them to further demonstrate a particular concept.

In May 2024, I received a master's degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Iowa. I've passed five actuarial exams with the Society of Actuaries (SOA), specifically Exams P, FM, FAM, SRM, and ALTAM; I'll take PA in April 2026, and I plan to finish my pre-ASA modules before the end of the year. I have tutored students in Exam P, FM, and FAM dating back to 2021, and I have had multiple students pass.

Very Well Verse

I asked Okechukwu for a very last minute tutoring session on desperate help on a specific topic for the SAO Exam FAM. I had the exam in two days and never learned the topic. I was hesitant to ask any tutor for help because the exams are so tedious that when you take it it is very easy to forget information. However, Okechukwu knew exactly how to explain it in a way that I understood and I had THREE of the exam topic he taught me pop up with what he taught me. What I really appreciated is we did one problem but he pivoted in what else the question could ask given the same information just in case. Glad to say I passed and I do not think I wouldve without this guys help. Thank you so much, again!!!!!

An Amazing Tutor!
