About Ronald

Bio

Knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Calculus, Statistic, Algebra, Excel and Power Point all help me in obtaining my Ph.D. and in becoming my international role in Biotechnology.

The two essential traits any tutor MUST have are 1) knowledge of the subject and 2) the ability to explain it in simple, easy to understand English.

I have them both.

The two essential traits any tutor MUST have are 1) knowledge of the subject and 2) the ability to explain it in simple, easy to understand English.

I have them both.

I’m a honors graduate of both the University of Maryland and The Johns Hopkins University, majoring in biologic sciences and biochemistry, with 30+ years of professional experience.

I have a passion for teaching.

Here are just a few of the comments I’ve received:

- He was able to convey the biomedical info in an easily understandable way.
- Able to make potentially complicated information understandable to the lay person.
- Amazing info – the nonscientist in me was somewhat challenged, but I learned a lot.
- Makes the science easy. I wish I would have had him for a science teacher!
- Awesome. Loved how Dr. Ron made the “science” understandable for us.

To me Science is a verb; it is active and on-going. Rather than make students memorize what Scientists have learned, I prefer to teach them how they learned it, and hopefully in that way they can begin to truly understand and think for themselves.

Biochemistry

After receiving my doctorate from The Johns Hopkins University I was an assistant professor at the Hopkins School of Medicine for four years. I then decided to go into industry where I worked in the Biotechnology field for over 35 years. I have the proven ability to explain complex scientific concepts in easy to understand lessons.
Chemistry

Chemistry

Internationally recognized authority in Pharmaceutical Manufactuing / Quality Control. Able to communicate complex concepts in simple to understand terms Conducted multiple seminars dealing with Chemistry, Biochemistry and Statistics
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

To all Pharm Tech students -- I'm a Ph.D semi-retired Biochemist with 30+ years of experience working with Pharmaceutical companies. I also have the proven ability to explain what appears to be complex concepts in easy-to-understand English. I am available to help Ron B
Praxis

Praxis

I am a Ph.D. Biochemist. As part of my undergraduate and graduate training I have been exposed to all facets of math, including calculus, differential equations, vector analysis and matrix theory. During my undergraduate training I pulled a 4.0, meaning I got a A in every subject!!! As a result, I was chosen as one of two Woodrow Wilson Fellows from the Maryland in 1970. In addition, I have taught statistics professionally for many years. I currently have qualified for the following Wyzant math topics: algebra 1 - algebra 2 - geometry - Mathematica - prealgebra - precalculus - SAT math - statistics and trigonometry A Praxis test is one of a series of American teacher certification exams written and administered by the Educational Testing Service. Various Praxis tests are usually required before, during, and after teacher training courses in the U.S. The Praxis I, or Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST), consists of three exams: reading, writing, and mathematics. The math section of the Praxis I exam is composed of problems involving 1) Operations and numbers 2) Algebra 3) Geometry and measurements and 4) Probability, Data Analysis. My math training, as well as my demonstrated ability to tutor (my students rate me 4.8 out of 5) certainly should qualify me to tutor the math portion of the Praxis I exam.

Geometry

Dr. Ron was knowledgeable and patient. He tailored his tutoring session, to the way my daughter learns best. We will definitely be using his tutoring services in the future!

Very Responsive

We needed some immediate help with some PreCalculus questions for an online class. Ronald answered my request quickly and he came over on time and was very helpful. We didn't continue with WyzAnt only because with this particular online course, if you get stuck with an area, you can't continue until that lesson is finished. We needed someone that was accessible in a more immediate time frame which is difficult to do. We just couldn't get our schedule to go with my daughter's classwork and the schedule of a tutor.
