I believe the most important part of tutoring is connection. I haven't forgotten what it's like to be a middle or high school student, whether looking for enrichment or just trying to make sense of the material. I've spent years navigating my own STEM coursework and use math and statistics in my research every day, so I am constantly reminded of what made topics challenging to learn and how to convey concepts in understandable ways.
I scored an 800 on the SAT Math section and earned an A in college Calculus II. My coursework at Cornell and Hopkins gave me a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, and statistics.
When it comes to your student, I will go to any length to see them succeed. Part of the reason I love tutoring is the pure joy of learning. There's nothing better than seeing a concept finally click for a student. That "aha" moment never gets old. When we're not working through homework or classwork, I create custom worksheets tailored to each student, focusing on the problem types where they need the most practice.
