Chemistry can be challenging when concepts feel disconnected or move too quickly in class. My goal is to make chemistry clear, logical, and manageable so students see measurable improvement in honors, advanced placement (AP), and college-level chemistry courses. My structured and interactive teaching style will create a safe environment that my students require to ask questions for understanding and accommodate diverse learning preferences.
My 20+ years’ experience as a science educator and chair of two science departments with both a bachelor’s degree in pharmacology and toxicology and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction aligns well with students who have chemistry and STEM aspirations. Within those years, I have been teaching advanced science courses in the classroom and online. Some of the online courses included Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, College Chemistry, and Pharmaceutical Calculations with a 5.0/5.0 rating.
Students who work with me often report on improved grades, stronger problem-solving skills, and greater confidence in chemistry concepts such as stoichiometry, chemical reactions, atomic structure, and gas laws. I emphasize active learning, so students can explain their reasoning, apply concepts independently, and gain confidence in their abilities.
If you are seeking a professional, patient, and well-structured approach to chemistry, I would be glad to help you develop a personalized plan for success.
