Hi, I'm Lindsey! I graduated with a B.A. in International Studies and a minor in Anthropology. I have always loved Arabic; I have been studying it for nine years. I have a few years of experience tutoring, teaching, and mentoring kids age 7 to 17, mostly in Arabic. My experiences range from teaching at an Arabic language camp to tutoring Arabic in afterschool programs. One thing I enjoy about tutoring Arabic is teaching both the written and spoken dialects to encourage conversation in addition to reading and writing. Even though my experience is with children, I'm more than willing to tutor adults.
Part of what I love about tutoring is the individualized pace and flexibility of the lessons. I take learning styles into account, creating lessons for visual/spatial, aural/auditory, or physical/kinesthetic learners, and more. I enjoy being able to adjust lessons based on areas where the student struggles while acknowledging strengths.
As I mentioned before, I have been studying Arabic for nine years. This includes a year abroad in Amman, Jordan, where I was enrolled in a language-intensive program (involving assignments such as writing research papers in Arabic). My specialties in Arabic are Modern Standard and the Levantine Dialect (although I do have limited experience in the Egyptian dialect). I have experience tutoring students who are already in Arabic classes and may have needed extra help, as well as teaching students who haven't yet learned the Arabic letters.
