I have been tutoring since the age of 16. I was raised in Israel to an Israeli father and an American mother, so I had the privilege of both cultures and languages. Consequently, I am bilingual in Hebrew and English. I have lived in the States for the past 27 years. My entire academic background revolves around education. My Ph.D. focuses on second language acquisition. In addition, I have a teaching certificate. As an educator, these skill sets are transferable to various subjects. As my teaching career demonstrates, I have taught various language skills, namely, conversation, grammar, reading, and writing, to different target populations. I have taught English as a second language, English as a foreign language, writing, and public speaking for native English speakers. I have taught undergraduate and graduate students.
I taught young kids English through songs and games as early as 4. I have taught kids reading and writing and tutored conversational skills to seniors as old as 70. Teaching is my passion and my gift. I enjoy creating tailored lesson plans based on one's specific level and goals. I draw much satisfaction from teaching and helping my students gain confidence in their knowledge. I have taught English in high school, community college, and university. But as I mentioned earlier, I am a native Hebrew speaker. And I have much experience teaching Hebrew.
I have taught Hebrew at Sunday Hebrew schools and tutored kids attending Jewish Day schools. Likewise, I taught adults planning trips to Israel or wanting to learn conversational Hebrew.
I look forward to meeting you and getting you excited about learning Hebrew or English, either for school or pleasure.
