Education has always been a passion of mine; as a lifelong learner, I eagerly look forward to opportunities to engage with others in the learning process, be it 1st grade reading comprehension, high school world history, or college-level literary criticism. Having graduated summa cum laude with an English and philosophy degree, I know what it means to apply oneself to a given course of study and the rewards afforded by diligence and commitment to hard work. My liberal arts education has also provided me with a wide range of familiarity with subjects as diverse as physics, psychology, religious studies, mathematics, and art history. In addition, having worked for two years as a writing consultant in undergraduate composition has equipped me with the pedagogical scaffolding and practical experience necessary for effective tutoring at the one-on-one level; my experience working with elementary and middle school children in an outdoor camp environment and as an after-school homework aide has also strengthened my ability to engage with students at a younger age.

My main specialities involve English language arts skills and range from basic reading comprehension and elementary writing to college-level literary analysis and composition. I have experience working with ESL students. I am also trained in the history of philosophy (Continental emphasis) with competency in logic (basic & symbolic). I am capable of tutoring any subject at the primary level and most subjects at the secondary, especially the humanities and social sciences. I am proficient in French and offer tutoring in both conversation and basic literacy.

Regardless of the subject or level, my commitment to excellence in learning and the holistic development of the learner remains the same. My mission in every tutoring session is to collaborate with the student in fostering his or her own growth in the achievement of desired goals. This requires the student to accept the challenge of stepping beyond the realm of the comfortable in order to push him or herse
