I specialize in high school English and social studies, bringing both strong academic credentials and real-world experience to every session. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Delaware in 2023 with a degree in history and foreign languages, and have since built experience in government and policy working in Washington, DC.
I believe that truly understanding history and the social sciences requires more than memorizing facts — it requires learning to recognize patterns and think analytically. I prioritize these skills in my sessions while also offering practical strategies for retention when they're needed. Before diving into any material, I make sure each student understands why it matters, keeping sessions dynamic and meaningful rather than purely mechanical. I close every session with a brief review to reinforce what we've covered.
Over the past year, I taught English to students aged 10–19 in Austria, working with more than 600 students across a two schools. This experience sharpened my ability to differentiate instruction and meet each student where they are developmentally. Navigating a multilingual, multicultural classroom also deepened my commitment to helping students develop a global perspective on cultural, social, political, and environmental issues. Throughout college and beyond, I worked as a writing and ESL tutor, taking on multiple one-on-one clients per week. In these sessions, I always prioritized student and parent input to ensure each session was tailored to the individual's needs.
As a newer teacher, I bring fresh energy and contemporary perspectives alongside substantial professional experience. I'm passionate about helping young people build the analytical and communication skills they need to engage confidently with complex ideas — and I'd love to help your student do the same.
