Hi, I'm Noah. I'm a rising sophomore at Duke University studying Financial Economics and Biology, where I earned a 3.91 GPA my first year. I scored a 34 on the ACT and was admitted to every school I applied to, including Duke, Michigan, and USC. Hi, I'm Noah. I'm a rising sophomore at Duke University studying Financial Economics and Biology, where I earned a 3.91 GPA my first year. I scored a 34 on the ACT and was admitted to every school I applied to, including Duke, Michigan, and USC. I'm offering SAT and ACT tutoring this summer for high school students who want a focused, personalized approach to test prep. Having just gone through this process myself, I understand the pressure and the strategies that actually work, not just the generic advice you hear from people who took the test decades ago.

My tutoring approach is built around the idea that every student is different. Some need to shore up content gaps in math or grammar. Some have the content down but lose points to careless mistakes and time pressure. Others struggle most with test anxiety and pacing rather than any specific subject area. In our first session, I figure out where each student actually needs to focus and build a plan from there, prioritizing the highest-leverage areas first instead of running through generic review of every topic. I've tutored younger students through National Honor Society in high school and currently teach high schoolers through First Generation Investors at Duke, a nonprofit that brings investing and financial literacy education to students in Durham. Between my recent test prep experience and ongoing work with high school students, I'm comfortable both with the material and with adapting how I teach it to different learners.

If you're interested in working together, feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up a free intro call. I'm happy to start with a short conversation to talk through where your student is, what they're aiming for, and whether I'd be a good fit before committing to anything. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I scored a 35 on ACT English and scored a 36 on multiple practice tests, so I'm very comfortable with the material. Most students lose points here on the rules they think they know, like comma usage, pronoun reference, and parallel structure. I focus on diagnosing exactly which rules are tripping a student up and drilling those until they're automatic.
ACT Math

ACT Math

I scored a 30 on the ACT Math, and while it was not my strongest section as a high school junior, I have built a strong math foundation since then. I got a 5 on AP Precalculus, an A in IB Math SL, and an A in multiple college math courses. I'm comfortable with all the content, including algebra, geometry, functions, and basic trig. I work with students on content gaps and the pacing issues that cost most students points in this section.
ACT Reading

ACT Reading

I scored a 34 on ACT Reading. For most students, this section is more about pacing and strategy than reading ability. I work with students on identifying question types, knowing when to skim versus read closely, and using the answer choices to work backward when they're stuck.
ACT Science

ACT Science

I scored a 36 on ACT Science, which most students find has the steepest learning curve. The good news is it's almost entirely about strategy, not science knowledge. I teach students how to break down the passages, what to actually read versus skip, and how to handle each of the three passage types differently.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I haven't taken the SAT directly but I have a strong math foundation including a 5 on AP Precalculus, an A in IB Math SL, and an A in multiple college math courses. The SAT Math section tests the same core content as the ACT, including algebra, geometry, functions, and problem-solving, just with a different format and pacing structure. I'm comfortable teaching both the content and the strategy specific to the SAT format.
