My first tutoring experience came naturally: while still in high school, I regularly helped my four younger siblings with homework, reading comprehension, and study support. Later, as a student at Allegany College of Maryland, I worked as a tutor, helping fellow students understand difficult material in a clear, approachable way.
The most important part of my tutoring background came at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I earned my B.A. in English Language & Literature, and worked as a writing tutor at the esteemed Writing Center. In that role, I tutored scores of students one-on-one, helping them strengthen their writing, organization, grammar, argumentation, and revision process.
In the years since, I've worked in professional settings that required strong communication, trust, patience, and follow-through. Those experiences made me an even better tutor: calm under pressure, attentive to individual needs, and skilled at explaining things in ways that make students feel respected and capable.
Today, as a father of two, I'm looking to do meaningful work that helps students learn, grow, and feel more confident in school. I especially enjoy helping students with writing, reading, English, grammar, study skills, and the writing process, from brainstorming to final revision.
If you're looking for a tutor who is thoughtful, dependable, and supportive, I'd be glad to connect.

Teaching style & methodology
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly individualized. I listen closely, identify where a student is getting stuck, and break things down into simple next steps. I want student to feel respected and capable, not judged or overwhelmed. My goal is to help them no only complete the task in front of them, but also build skills and confidence that carry forward.
