I have over 20 years of experience in education, youth development, and student support across middle school, high school, and college preparatory programs. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Pre-Med from Florida A&M University and completed my teaching certification through Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC. I hold certifications in Biology and Chemistry for grades 7–12, as well as certification as an Elementary Science Resource Teacher through the University of the District of Columbia. I also completed Crisis Prevention Intervention training for educators in Maryland.
Throughout my career, I have taught and mentored students in public school classrooms, small group instruction, one-on-one tutoring, enrichment programs, and academic intervention settings. I served as a Science and Math Teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools, teaching Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Physiology, elementary science, and upper elementary math. My teaching style combines hands-on learning, differentiated instruction, relationship-building, and data-driven support to help students with different learning styles and academic needs succeed.
I also worked as a Science Instructor with the University of Maryland Upward Bound Program, where I provided tutoring, workshops, academic planning, and mentoring for college-bound students. Over the years, I have taught elementary, middle, and high school students in both classroom and individualized settings, including support for at-risk and homebound learners. My passion is creating safe, engaging learning environments that encourage both academic and personal growth.
