I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, where I built a strong academic foundation in science and quantitative subjects, including biology, epidemiology, and data analysis. These areas required consistent use of basic math, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, which I now apply when helping students understand foundational math and science concepts.

In my professional experience as a Medical Assistant, I regularly educated patients on complex medical treatments and broke down technical information into simple, broken down explanations. This strengthened my ability to teach step by step and adapt to different learning styles. I also worked closely with Spanish speaking patients, translating and explaining medical information clearly, which improved comprehension and engagement.

Additionally, during my internship with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, I supported course participants by guiding them through assignments, explaining materials, and encouraging active participation. This experience helped me develop a structured, supportive teaching approach in both individual and group settings.

As a bilingual speaker with a Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, I am confident in tutoring Spanish at a beginner to intermediate level, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills.

My teaching approach is patient, adaptable, and focused on building confidence. I break down concepts into manageable steps, using real world examples, and adjust my methods based on each student’s needs. My goal is not only to help students complete their work, but to ensure they truly understand the material and feel more confident moving forward.
