In all my years teaching, I've derived the most enjoyment from seeing students engage with course material and be able to express their unique thoughts and ideas in writing. To write well and clearly is the biggest challenge of studying English, and the most important as kids move outside of grade school. However, it's also a joy to read literature with kids that probes their thinking and gets them considering the nature of the world in which they live.
