Hello! I'm Marina, and I enjoy helping students build confidence, skills, and learning systems that work for their unique brains. I hold a Master of Science in Couple & Family Therapy (4.0 GPA) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, with academic training focused on human development and evidence-based learning strategies. I bring over five years of experience as the owner and lead educator of a tutoring practice specializing in supporting neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD, learning differences, and academic anxiety. I also work in private practice, which allows me to bring a structured, research-informed, and student-centered perspective to my tutoring.
My tutoring approach is strengths-based, individualized, and goal-oriented. I specialize in math, Spanish, reading support, and executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, study strategies, and task planning. I have helped students improve grades, complete missing work, and develop independent study and organizational systems that better align with how they learn. Rather than focusing only on homework completion, I prioritize helping students understand how they learn and build sustainable skills that increase independence and confidence over time.
I most commonly work with elementary and middle school students for math support, and with high school, college-aged students, and adults for ADHD and executive functioning tutoring. I also work with Spanish students of all ages and am fluent in English and Spanish. Whether you are seeking subject-specific academic support or tools to better manage attention, organization, and follow-through, my goal is to provide clear instruction, practical strategies, and supportive encouragement to promote long-term success.
