With five years of tutoring experience in Spanish, I bring both depth and versatility to my teaching approach. My journey began at Robert Frost Middle School, where I tutored Spanish during a semester-long program and discovered my passion for helping others grow through language. Since then, I’ve worked with students ranging from age 5 to adult learners in college, adapting my instruction to match different learning styles and goals. Whether in one-on-one sessions or small group settings, my goal has always been to support students in building lasting understanding—especially through guided practice, consistent feedback, and encouraging self-discipline in their learning process.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Technology Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation from the University of Maryland. Although I currently work part-time, I’ve remained committed to tutoring because I believe personalized learning can unlock potential far beyond the classroom. I’m eager to support students in Spanish and Economics—two subjects where structured thinking, self-reflection, and practice are essential. While I won’t simply give out answers to homework or test questions (unless specifically compensated for that service), I guide students through their mistakes to foster long-term improvement and confidence.

My tutoring philosophy centers on the principle that learning is cumulative: each concept builds on the last. I encourage students to use self-testing techniques—study in focused 25-minute intervals, then self-test at least three times—because this method solidifies recall and reveals gaps in understanding. From there, I step in to help clarify tricky concepts, break down errors, and strengthen weak points. With a tailored, student-first approach, I strive to make learning both empowering and enjoyable.

I have been playing classical music in school at Sligo Middle School and Wootton High School. Now, I play improvisational music at my church. I would say that I am at an intermediate playing level, and I have some knowledge of music theory.
