Hi--I'm Aaron!

I have a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics (double major) from the University of Maryland, College Park, graduating in 2020 with magna cum laude honors and a 3.96/4.0 GPA. Since graduating, I've worked as a Software Engineer at a Fortune 500 company, a Game Developer at an indie studio, a Data Analyst at a nonprofit, and most recently as a Data Scientist in the public healthcare space.

I began tutoring over ten years ago, and have since taught students in both classroom and one-on-one settings, with ages ranging from middle school through college. Before graduating as valedictorian of my high school class, I served as a volunteer peer tutor in a variety of subjects including math, computer science, and physics. As an undergraduate, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for three courses, including Head Teaching Assistant for one. Over my summer breaks, I mentored high school students in pre-college developmental programs.

My approach to teaching centers not only on conveying new information and strategies to students but also on developing their confidence as learners with unique perspectives and strengths. I'm of the belief that confidence is one of the most underappreciated factors when it comes to academic performance. All too often, students are hampered by a lack of self-belief as a result of previous negative experiences in school. I myself struggled a lot in grade school when my family moved abroad and I entered 5th grade without being able to speak the local language. It took many years, and a subsequent return to the United States, for me to able to find my groove as a student.

Whatever your goals are as a student--straight A's, 1600 on the SAT, or just a sense of steady improvement--I believe that I have the tools required to help you get there. If you're interested in working together or have any questions regarding my qualifications, please feel free to reach out.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Awesome Discrete Math Tutor!

Aaron was such a knowledgable and invaluable tutor and helped me get through my discrete math class with a not-so-great professor. Not only was he able to catch me up on the material I couldn't understand, but he also taught me strategies on how to solve problems. He makes learning a difficult topic like discrete math much more manageable with clear visual examples and explanations. For discrete math, you can't do any better than Aaron.

Great Improvement on SAT!

Aaron was extremely impactful from the very first lesson. I was struggling to get the last ~100 points on the Math section and within 5 lessons, I was able to go from a 740 to an 800. He quickly understood what I needed and was able to adapt.

Best Discrete Math Tutor!

I met with many tutors before I finally connected with Aaron, and he was the only one that made me thoroughly understand the content. He’s patient and ensures that you understand the topic before he moves on. After meeting with him I easily got an A on my exam, and barely had to study because I had mastered all the content. Highly recommend him!!

Excellent tutor

Aaron tutored my son in Discrete Math. As per my son,Aaron's explanations were very clear and provided a comprehensive understanding of each problem. He was able to excel and rank among 5 out of 300 students. I am so thankful to Aaron.

Very knowledgeable and easy to reach

Aaron has extensive knowledge in discrete math and was able to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. He broke down each topic into very simple examples/terms as many times as I needed. Also, his recorded Zoom meetings made it easy to see the problems we worked on and go back to what we discussed. Highly recommend!
