Literature

I have a very strong academic background in literary study from high school through graduate school. I have read, analyzed, and produced highly graded essays and compositions about a variety of literature including, but not limited to: - Shakespeare (Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, etc.) - American Literature (F. Scott Fitzgerald, Harper Lee, Mark Twain, Edgar Allen Poe, Ray Bradbury, J.D. Salinger, etc.) - British Literature (Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Virginia Woolf, etc.) - African American Literature (James Baldwin, Zora Neale Hurston, Frederick Douglass, W.E.B Du Bois, etc.) - Children's Literature (Roald Dahl, C.S. Lewis, Rudyard Kipling, Philip Pullman, Kate DiCamillo, etc.) Reading has always been a passionate hobby of mine, and I look forward to helping you delve into new worlds from new perspectives!

Psychology

Psychology has always been a passion of mine, and I pursued a psychology-focused line of study to augment my formal International Affairs and International Development majors. I received a 5 on my AP psychology exam, and volunteered my time as a teacher's aide during high school to support students studying for the AP Psychology exam to increase their chances of success. I also took two psychology courses in college and received an A+ (equivalent to a 4.0 GPA) in both courses. I have always found psychology to be a fascinating field, and I believe the best way to approach the topic is to make the learning as personable as possible using a conversationalist tutoring approach that allows students to fully immerse themselves in the scientific study.

Writing

I have studied and composed several writing pieces over the years in a variety of styles. This includes technical writing for proposal development to pitch projects that I have designed, analytical and comparative writing when studying classical literature, and creative writing in the form of short stories and poetry. Many of my written works have been used by professors and teachers as example compositions for current and future cohorts of students throughout my High School, Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Arts studies. I am very passionate about writing and empowering others to put their unique voice and thoughts to the page in a way they can be confident about.
