Harvard pre-med student with tutoring experience

Hello! My name is Mia, and I am a rising junior at Harvard. I study biology on a pre-med track.

In high school, I was the valedictorian of my class, received a 1500+ SAT score, and was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. I am skilled at teaching both material that will be tested as well as test taking strategies. I have over one year's experience tutoring ACT/SAT test prep, math (up to calculus), the sciences (including AP/college level), and more. I also have experience working with students that have intellectual disabilities, and I enjoy helping people achieve all kinds of academic goals, from becoming more organized to passing a challenging class to scoring a top SAT score.

When tutoring, I like to use lots of examples and create step-by-step guides for completing problems. I find that students feel the most confident (and are most successful!) when they have a plan for solving a problem. Most of my tutoring experience has been one-on-one, however, I am willing and able to do group tutoring sessions. I offer all new students a free consultation session so that we can get to know each other and establish some goals prior to beginning our tutoring sessions.
