Hi! I'm Cheryl! I have always known I wanted to be a teacher and work with students. I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2006 with a degree in elementary education. I have a Master's degree in educational technology. I spent 14 years teaching elementary school (12 years in 2nd and 2 years in 5th) before leaving the classroom to focus on raising my three children. While I enjoy being home and running "Mommy School" with my own children, I miss teaching other children and want to continue that through tutoring. I taught virtually for one year during the pandemic and I'm comfortable tutoring virtually.
I have experience tutoring elementary students in 1 on 1 sessions as well as small group sessions. I have 3 years of experience tutoring in person. Most of my tutoring students have needed support in math, but I am also able to offer reading and writing support for elementary students.
