Hello! My name is Mishal, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Before working in healthcare management, I was a paraeducator at a middle school, where I supported students with IEPs and individualized learning needs. I also have experience working with children on the autism spectrum through Maryland’s state waiver program. These roles taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and building confidence in every learner.
I specialize in tutoring elementary and middle school students in math, reading comprehension, writing, homework support, and study skills. I believe in meeting each student where they are, breaking concepts into simple steps, and making learning feel less overwhelming. My background in psychology and hands-on experience in education help me recognize different learning styles and tailor lessons accordingly.
For students with learning differences or who may struggle with focus and confidence, I use positive reinforcement and structured support to help them stay motivated. Parents often tell me their child feels more comfortable and less stressed after working with me, which is always my goal. While my main focus is helping children, I also offer conversational English tutoring for adults who want to improve their confidence and fluency.
Above all, I want students to feel encouraged, supported, and proud of their progress. Whether it’s mastering fractions, improving reading comprehension, or simply making homework time less stressful, I’m here to help children grow academically and personally in a positive and patient environment.
